Colonial heritage
Founded by the French in honor of King Francia Luis XV, during his short reign (1756-1763), in the Garriga de Binifadet, with the construction of the church that ended in 1783. Houses, following a French styled rectilinear layout, were built next to the temple. Fifty years towards the end of the 19th century, it was linked to Maó, which is only 2 kilometers apart, until it obtained its independence in 1904.
