Es Migjorn Gran is a town and municipality located in the meridian center of the island of Minorca, it has 1.409 inhabitants. The most important beaches are Sant Tomàs and Binigaus. Its San Cristóbal holiday is celebrated the fifth weekend of July or the first one in August.

A very famous person who lived in this municipality was Joan Riudavets, born in 1889, who came to be the oldest person in the world.
