Cathedral of Menorca

The Holy Cathedral-Basilica of Santa Maria is located in the center and highest point of the city of Ciutadella, belonging to the Diocese of Menorca. This is a Catalan Gothic style church and built between the XIII and XIV by express order of Alfonso III of Aragon after the conquest of the island from the Muslims in 1287. The cathedral was the title of basilica minor in 1953, given by Pius XII.
